WHO ARE THE TEAM?

​

The TEAM is a group of Neuro-Diverse adult Actors with mixed abilities including downs and autism.  All Actors are based in the Manchester area.

The TEAM meet 3 days every week to participate in acting workshops.

The lessons cover teaching the skills required to work within the acting industry in Television, Film and Theatre.

Over the ten years of the drama group running, the knowledge and discipline of the group has dramatically improved and the confidence of each individual has grown extensively.

​

The group is facilitated by a strong team of Professionals who have extensive experience working within the industry as Actors, Producers, Directors and Writers.

Each facilitator knows how to personally bring out the best skills of every individual member of the group and this is achieved by understanding and knowing the unique strengths of everybody.

When observing the group you can see the important key disciplines are practised at all times - to always respect one another as an individual, to believe in their own capabilities and to always have fun in the process of extending their learning.

WHAT THE TEAM HAVE ACHIEVED

​

Over the years, the TEAM have participated and performed in several stage productions they devise themselves.  Storylines are created by them improvising together and creating a loose script they are all comfortable working around.

​

Most of the TEAM have now Acted in three feature films 'Charlies Crew', 'Priceless' and 'Does God Know?'  The film called 'Charlie's Crew' was premiered at MUFC and publicised on BBC News to later be screened on Amazon Prime. 

The Team are currently working towards finalising their third feature film which is set to complete in June 2025.

The Actors have made dozens of short films and the group were proud to have won the 'For Everyone Award' from Forever Manchester.

They have acted alongside the well known and loved Actor John Henshaw who is a huge supporter of the group and the work they do.​

Street Theatre at Wythenshawe Civic with 'Barry n Gary Go Civic'

St. John's Club with 'Yes We Can' attended by Actor Julie Hesmondhalgh and BBC

The group have had BBC and Sky TV attend a number of their performances.​

​​

Some of the group have had professional auditions for TV roles resulting in appearances in 'The Crown', 'Hollyoaks' and 'Commercials'.​

Until most recently, the TEAM had their own one hour slot show on the local radio station Wythenshawe FM 97.2, but as a collaborative joint decision they decided to free up this time and dedicate it to focus on more Acting opportunities.​​​
